NSCDC nabs 11suspected bandits, kidnappers, rustlers in Sokoto

The Sokoto command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) has confirmed the arrest of 11 suspected high profile bandits, Kidnappers and cattle rustlers terrorising Wurno and Tureta local governments axis communities of Sokoto state.

The Sate Commandant, Muhammad Saleh Dada who paraded the suspects Monday said they were among the notorious banditry groups operating along Tureta, Dange Shuni and Wurno local governments.

He said they were involved in serious kidnapping, killings and abduction of many citizens upon which they get paid N10,000 each after operations.

According to him , no fewer than 44 rustled cattles were recovered from the group that were mostly between the age brackets of 18 and 34.

He gave the names of the bandits as Buba Alh. Bello(Dan Delu), 20; Alto Shehu, 25; Abu Alh. Gidado,20; Shehu Alh. Modibbo,20; Ibrahim Sani Duna, 18; Abdullahi Hassan(Yellow), 22 and Ibrahim Alh.Modi,20years.

Two of the suspected notorious bandits,
Muhammadu Aminu,20 and Buba Alh. Garba operated at Dabagi Lafiya in Dange Shuni.

In the same vein , the Commandant said Umar Sanda, 48 and Nura Alh. Bello, 34 were unrepentant informants that also supplied food to the suspected bandits.

Dada said ” the cows are in Custody of Wurno local government council headquarters .”

The Commandant said the bandits who confessed killing six people also operated in two places in Lambar Tureta and Dodawa in Dange Shuni local government area.

He said investigations were ongoing after which the suspects would be handed to DSS or be prosecuted accordingly .

According to Dada, the NSCDC would not rest on its ores at ensuring the success of the agency’s mandate by the federal government for a crime free society.
