FOLLOWING the appointment and allocation of potfolio to Mr Sunday Dare as Minister for Youth and Sports Development, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), considers same as great chance to enable youth fully participate in the success of Next level.
Its National President, Mr Bello Shagari remarked in a statement issued Thursday in Sokoto.
Dare was among President Buhari’s Wednesday 43 newly appointed and sworn ministers following their successful screening process by the National Assembly.
Shagari said the appointment of Mr. Sunday Dare which came unexpectedly, though, with satisfaction, stands him as fully equipped and experienced for the job.
” We are very much optimistic of his competence and credibility to deliver for the success of the Next level agenda for a prosperous Nigeria.
“On behalf of the leadership of the NYCN, I wish to congratulate the new Minister and thank President Muhammad Buhari for appointing some one who can deliver for youth”, the NYCN President said.
Accordingly, Shagari stressed further ” we expect that the new Minister will peacefully resolve the problems surrounding the Youth in the country especially the NYCN factionalization and save it from over aged men and political hijackers who have continued to invest in the disunity of the Nigerian Youth for years,” he pointed out.
While pointing out that the objective of Nigerian youth have always been in tune with the policies of President Buhari, the NYCN President listed among others fighting corruption and aiding in job creation as well opportunities for youth to reduce the unemployment rate and poverty in the country.
” These are areas we hope to work together and positively consolidate in the coming years and we have no doubt that with the new Minister, the sky will be the limit,” he added.
