Just wondering why, almost eight months after the swearing-in of Governor Senator Uba Sani, we still have an Overseer, who also doubles as the Administrator of Kaduna Capital Territory Authority, leading the Kaduna State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs instead of a substantive Commissioner.
In the SUSTAIN blueprint of the current administration, Security and Safety is number one on the agenda. This suggests it is should be a priority. So why should there be a part-time head manning such a strategic Ministry that is the foundation of other pillars of development in the State?
The recent attacks in some local governments shows that the bandits are pretty much active and remain a threat to our political and socio-economic development. The job of coordinating internal security should not be on ad-hoc basis.
Therefore, it is high time the Overseer is fully appointed as the Commissioner, thereby relinquishing his other appointment, or a new and capable person is appointed to provide full-time strategic leadership for the Ministry.
Lets engage, ask the right questions and hold the government accountable.
