Paris 2024 Olympics: FIBA Salutes Brave D’Tigress After USA Defeat

The Federation of International Basketball Association (FIBA) has said Nigeria’s D’Tigress superb display at the 2024 Olympic Games will linger on for a long time.

Rena Wakama’s side bowed out of the women’s basketball event to holders USA, 88-74 on Wednesday night.

D’Tigress defeated world number three Australia and world number five Canada in the group stage.

They made history as the first African team to play in an Olympic quarter-final.

“A fascinating run that we will remember for a long time,” FIBA wrote on X.

“Nigeria, you’re leaving Paris on the highest note.”
