1. Innate in man are sense-appetites for self-satisfaction, for being in control and for being recognised.
2. The strongest of these three sense-appetites, is that which drives the desire to satisfy sexual longings and food for living. This appetite is perhaps the strongest because procreation and continuous existence of humankind species is achieved through it. This is the sense-appetite represented in the quest for sexual pleasure, and that in food and drink.
3. Next is the appetite the drives self-pride, and desire for excellence. This appetite ensures that one strives for excellence in every endeavour. This is the sense appetite represented in the quest for power and authority over others.
4. The third appetite is that which triggers desire for recognition, amidst other people, and to be celebrated. This is the sense-appetite represented in the quest for popularity and fame.
5. These 3Ps sense-appetites (for Pleasure, Power and Popularity) are essential to make, or mar life.
6. Expressing them within moderate limits in line with good reason, brings the best out of any individual, while inordinate (over) indulgence in them turns one to a beastly nature, making him/her a menace to the society, which ultimately leads to self-destruction.
7. Every single ill in the society can be linked in one way or another to inordinate (over) indulgence in any one or more of these 3Ps sense-appetites by some members of the society.
8. These appetites have very strong drives that can only be bridled through discipline, established on sound morals, respect for other persons, and for natural order.
9. Human nature is intrinsically made to self-recognise moments of inordinate indulgence in these 3Ps sense-appetites. One of such pointers is that they are planned and executed in hiding (secret).
10. Everyone’s first duty to a peaceful society and quality personal life, is the expression of these 3Ps sense-appetites within the bounds of good reason and sound morals. At any moment you find yourself derail, do not delay in retracing, for the longer you dwell in it, the more you sink in, and the more difficult it becomes for you
