The Sokoto state police command has neutralised suspected notorious bandit and kidnap king pin, Bello Hantsi a.k.a Mai Dubu-Dubu of Tungar Rana Village, Sokoto state.
Bello Mai Dubu- Dubu met his water loo following a coordinated onslaught by the operatives of Anti-Kidnapping Unit in conjunction with DPO Kware Division who mobilized in search of the suspect.
A release by the command spokesman, ASP Ahmad Rufa’i said on Sunday.
Rufa’i said fresh investigations revealed that the suspect was the leader and supplier of arms and ammunition to the earlier 5 suspected kidnapers arrested by the command in an operation which also which also led to the recovery of arms and ammunition including 3 AK47 and 90 rounds of live ammunition on their way to Tambuwal on a kidnap mission.
The release said ” the anti-kidnap mobilised a coordinated a search of the suspect and on sighting the team and sensing danger at a near by bush, Mai Dubu-Dubu fired a shot to escape arrest and a quick response from the team neutralized him while others fled with bullets wounds.”
However, Rufa’i explained that while scanning the scene, the body of one (1) suspected bandit as well as one (1) Ak47 rifle with twenty-one (21) rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the scene.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Hayatu Kaigama commended the resilience and bravery of the officers and men of the command for the coordinated, professional and tact to achieve the feat.
Accordingly, Kaigama appealed to the public in the state to not hesitate to avail the command and other security agencies in the state with timely information on suspected criminal activity.
” This will enable the command and other security agencies take swift and decisive action against any recalcitrant criminal in the state”, reiterating that the command’s commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and property of the good people of the state under his(Kaigama) stewardship would not be comprised.
