Principal assures of completing ongoing projects before embarking on new ones

The Principal, Federal Government College, Sokoto, Alhaji Ibrahim Isiyaku Uba has reassured that the college will not embark on new projects without completing ongoing ones.

The Principal stated in Sokoto Tuesday while declaring open the college’s  capital projects Tender bids process for rehabilitation and landscaping before 18 man committee, adding that” the college will not entertain any variation on the contract sum.”

Those in the committee present for the technical as well evaluation process  were representatives of EFCC, ICPC, FME, CCB, SBMC, PTA, BPP among others including the media as observers witnessed the opening.
According to Uba” that is why this particular project is step down and to be executed in 2020″, he explained.

He further stated that ” it is in line with an earlier directive by the Federal Ministry of Education that ongoing projects must be completed before embarking on new ones.”

Uba who is also the Chairman of the committee , explained the nature of the college 2020 capital Appropriation project saying ” it is a single project grouped into Lots A, B and C and in compliance with the procurement Act of 2007 as advertised in the national dailies. 

The Principal disclosed that no fewer than thirteen companies submitted their tender documents for the bid which sum was not known.

He however, assured of an open and transparent process devoid of biases and in strict compliance with the provisions of the Act while reminding bidders of the essentials of the guiding and  enabling provisions which must be respected and fully complied with,

Accordingly Mr  Shamsuddeen  Salihu and Mr Pascal  Ike both of the Federal Ministry of Education Procurement and Legal Desks, assured of a process that would respect due process and in a lawful, transparent and open manner taking cognisance of the 2007 Procurement Act.
