Sagamu Pipeline Vandalism: NSCDC Arrests 2

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp have arrested two persons in connection with the handalization of NNPC pipeline in Sagamu area of Ogun state.

The suspect were arrested following a tip-off from an informant.

The suspect who where apprehended after they were incapacitated be fumes from the vandalised pipes were said to have gone to pipelines along Andre village close to Gbaara village in Sagamu to carry outtheir nefarious activity on Sunday, 19 January at about 1:30am, when the pressure from the pipes knocked them out.

An official of the Corp (name withheld) said ” The suspected vandals went to the pipeline to carry out their nefarious activity of vandalising the pipeline in order to syphon fuel from the pipeline but while carrying out their illegal activity when drilling the pipe the pressure with which the fuel gushed out threw them to the ground and the flammable gas affected them so much that they were incapacitated, the information got to the divisional officer through one of the office informant“.

Two suspects, Christian Joshua from Ogoja and Alfa from Osun state have since been handed over to the Antivandal Department of the Ogun state NSCDC command.
