Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has urged Nigerians to engage in acts that promote national integration and feeling of brotherhood for the unity and stability of the country.
The governor also pointed out that exemplary leadership cannot be achieved without the active and patriotic participation of the citizenry in strengthening harmonious co-existence.
He said it was time to reposition the strength of collective purposes in the nation’s quest to achieving success, adding that” we should therefore be ready to individually and collectively give our modest contributions. ”
Tambuwal who spoke Saturday night in Sokoto in a special sallah broadcast to the people of the state to mark the end of Ramadan and Eid Fitr celebration, also stressed that”we must share our joys with the less privileged among us and should be ready at all times to love for others what we love for ourselves, while adding that the virtues of selflessness and deication to the cause of fellow human beings have been cardinal pillars, which all societies that have achieved greatness in history had imbibed.
The governor noted that Eid Fitr is a time for love and goodwill which gives love to all and hate none, adding that”
According to him, despite the difficult economic times the country was going through, hope is not lost, urging Nigerians to jealously guard the change they craved and worked for.
” Certainly, nothing worth gaining is ever gained without efforts and sacrifices.
”We ought to bew broadminded and know that we need good citizens, those who are ready to strive with honesty, dedication, and self-denial”, he pointed out.
Tambuwal explained that his government has implemented policies that were designed to reinvigorate the economy of the state and enhance the living standards of people of the state.
This he stated, has strengthened his government’s commitment to the implementation of responsive policies in the areas of agriculture, rural development, health, education, women and youth development, housing and small and medium enterprises.
He stressed with assurance that his administration would continue to prioritise the welfare of the citizens.
”We will continue to find lasting solutions to the challenges confronting us with practical steps which we started two years ago and which you have all testified to its efficacy in moving our dear state forward”, the governor stated.
Tambuwal, however, emphaisied the need for Nigerians to continue to pray fervently for the health and safe return of President Muhammadu Buhari back to the country in good health and sound mind while acknowledging with profund gratitude to relgious and traditional leaders led by the Sultan for their prayers, guidance and support accordingly.
