Shared Agent Network Association In Nigeria (SANAN) has described the appointment of Senator Uba Sani as the Chairman of the committee on Banking Finance and Financial Institutes in the Senate as not only a step in the right direction, but one that will benefit many people especially at this era of cashless policy.
The group said that the appointment of Malam Uba Sani as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking and Finance is well deserved and will contribute immensely to the success of the 9th Assembly.
The statement was issued and jointly signed by the chairman of the association, Alhaji Kamal Mustapha Talban Gaya who is also the North West coordinator, its Secretary, Nura Hashim who is the North Central Coordinator, and its National Financial Secretary, Usman Alhaji Ismail, the coordinator to the North East.
They added that, “Malam Uba Sani’s private and public service experiences are handy tools that will prompt him to success.
“For over two decades, he has been a major player within the Nigerian political, economical and development spheres,” it added.
They commended the Senate President, Ahmed Ibrahim Lawal, for his effort in identifying a tested, foresighted and a patriot in the person of Senator Malam Uba Sani.
The association further said that this was important, especially now that the Senate is looking for people with demonstrated level of experience.
“As the chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, Malam Uba Sani has a major task of ensuring strict compliance to financial and insurance guidelines and regulations. He also will see to the best practices in accordance with global standards.
“The Nigerian banking sector for instance, has been facing some challenges in terms of compliance and its relationship with the central bank of Nigeria has been somewhat frosty.
“With his traits of inter personal communication and building as well as sustaining relationships, Malam Uba Sani will surely create an enabling environment for every player within these sectors to thrive.
“This he will do through pushing for effective and efficient policies, guidance and regulation that will be acceptable to every player involved,” They assured.
SANAN further said that his appointment no doubt is a great development not only for the people of Kaduna Central Senatorial District or Kaduna State, but the country at large.
“His efforts will be felt across the length and breathe of the country,” it added.
SANAN, experts on cashless consultants and other financial inclusion, are willingly to join hands with the Chairman on Banking and Financial Institutions to move the country forward by achieving the vision 2020 financial inclusion.
