The concern was disclosed by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (APC, Abia North), Chairman of the Senate Ad-hoc Committee, following the grilling of the National Coordinator, Hajia Halima Iliya.
The committee specifically queried the ₦6.225 billion allocation received by the Nigerian Police Force, which was the largest single share of the fund, alongside reports of financial irregularities and questionable consultancy spending.
Senator Kalu ordered a full reconciliation of all financial records and directed the Safe Schools Financing Office to return with a comprehensive, verifiable breakdown of all expenditures, contractor details, and complete documentation from the CBN Trust Fund account, stressing that the committee would not proceed otherwise.
