SOCCIMA organises national trade fair in March, targets multi nationals , foreign embassies participation

NO fewer than 11 companies and institutions have been engaged as  partners with expected participation of embassies and multi nationals ahead of the upcoming 11th edition of the Sokoto National Trade Fair slated for 10th – 24th March, 2020 according to the Alhaji Muazu Bello Maiwurno, President , Sokoto Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture(SOCCIMA).


The fair tagged:” Sokoto 2020″ , has as its theme: Revitalizing the Agriculture and Solid Mineral Sectors as Key to Economic Diversification of Sokoto state and the Nation.”
Briefing newsmen Wednesday in Sokoto preparatory to the fair, Alhaji Maiwurno said the fair anchored by a committee had no fewer than 23 foreign Embassies, Missions and multi – nationals that would witness what to showcase inorder for them to take advantage of the abundant natural resources for possible business partnership and investment.


 ” This will further avail interested local and foreign companies to enter into business business by exploring the potentials available from across the state”, he pointed out.


Explaining further , Maiwurno said the theme of the fair was informed to demonstrate and ensure commitment to the federal government agenda of diversifying the country’s economic as well translates the course and seven important  objectives of  the fair.


According to the SOCCIMA President , the cardinal aim of the fair is to consolidate on the state’s numerous achievements as well further its renewed approach to promoting business through modern technics for sustained economic growth.


” We are building on a template that will accommodate research and strong partnership that will further project the relevance and responsibilities of SOCCIMA to people of the state towards establishing business with better ad modern ideas. 

” Therefore, research remain upper most to the Chamber. We are operating in collaboration with consultants on how best to apply modern technology to promote businesses and fast track sustainable industrialisation in Sokoto the state”, he explained further.


He said the official prospectus of the two weeklong fair which he described as the dirt d its kind ,  had since been unveiled and was loudly greeted.


” I wish to state that the fair promises to be innovative and promoting. A standing organising committee is working round the clock to ensure its success. SOCCIMA is equally fast tracking intervention plan to revive closed companies and industries deemed viable for operation in the state.”
