Sokoto APC chair says party not an opposition, peoples leading choice in the state

Sokoto state All Progressives Congress Chairman, Hon. Isah Sadik Achida has said that the party was never an opposition platform, insisting that it remains the leading and most popular political hub in the state.

Achida made the remark on Thursday while flagging off the distribution of N2 million empowerment items in cash to 200 persons in Rabah town, headquarters of Rabah local government and birth place of late Premier of the defunct Northern Region, Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sarduana of Sokoto.

Each of the 200 beneficiaries were empowered with N10,000 by the Deputy House Leader in the Sokoto state House of Assembly, Hon. Abdullahi Zakari Rabah.

According to the Chairman, ” our Party under the resilient leadership of Senator Aliyu Wamakko is waxing stronger by the day with unprecedented number of followers across this state.”

Achida continued: ” a larger percentage of Sokoto people have vowed to remain in the party”, noting that the ruling PDP is the one in opposition as it has lost its political face value before majority of its followers who are currently regretting where they found themselves.

The one time Commissioner added ” members of the party were languishing in agony for been abandoned in stagnation .

” The people of Sokoto are not dead, dumb nor blind. They can separate the grains from the chef”, he stated.

The APC stalwart challenged the PDP led government of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal to point at a single project executed in Rabah town which holds the bond of history.

He commended APC lawmakers from the state to federal levels for their unflinching commitment and supported t to their constituents, noting that, Hon. Zakari Rabah has set a landmark precedence for been transparent and committed to the course of his people by presenting the activities of his stewardship as a true representative.

He called on APC members to show up for the validation of their party membership during the upcoming registration exercise scheduled for December 13, 2020, pointing out that the exercise was important and beneficial to all APC members .

Earlier, Hon. Zakari Rabah who is also the Chairman , House Committee on Youths and Sports said he was committed to the course of his constituents, irrespective of party affiliations.

According to the lawmaker” I was elected to serve the majority interest . The mandate given to me is a trust, tied to sacrifice which I have to deliver through meaningful representation and support to the electorates particularly my party members.”

He explained that the gesture was designed to fast track the empowerment initiative that cut across the 11 wards of the local government.

” I have decided to tag it ” 2020 Poeples’ Empowerment Programme Initiative for the Indigent”, he said.
