THE Peoples Democratic Party statewide Campaign Council Director General for the reelection of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state, Mukhtari Bello Maigona has said that opposition APC lacks responsive policy and programme ideas to implement for the people of the state.
He said, it candidate and former deputy governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto had lost touch with the inkling of what governance entailed.
Maigona in a statement he personally signed and issued to newsmen on Monday in Sokoto in reaction to a release allegedly by the Buhari Support Organisation(BSO) said it was evident and real that APC in the state has nothing to offer.
” Our attention has been drawn to an afterthought release by the Buhari Support Organization on the very shameful performance of the APC candidate at the BBC debate for governorship candidates in Sokoto State.”
According to the DG campaign council who is also the chairman Sokoto state Pilgrims Welfare Agency(PWA), ” their response to the sincere comment of the PDP candidate and Governor of Sokoto State, Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on industrialization is characteristic of the shameless affront that APC institutions and groups subject Nigerians to, against the dismal performance of their regime.
It is a factual reality reported by several agencies that the repressive, anti people policies of President Muhammadu Buhari are responsible for the unprecedented closure of factories all over Nigeria, especially in hubs like Kano, Kaduna, Jos and Lagos,” he noted.
Maigona who cited a practical example with reference to Sokoto state to buttress his stand pointed out that the PPP attempt to establish a tomato and tractor production factories was subverted by Buhari’s bad economic policy.
” In fact, Erisco Foods, who is the biggest tomato puree producer in West Africa, has scaled down his Lagos factory and shifted his focus to Ghana.
We challenge BSO to cite one important project of industrial relevance in the Northwest, where Buhari secured the highest number of votes in 2015.”
The young politician added ” the Buhari Support Organization should concentrate their energy in apologizing to Nigerians for promoting total failure, instead of resorting to malicious attacks on people who speak the truth.”
However, Maigona said ” it is expected that BSO would issue a release apologizing for the disgraceful conduct of their supporters at the venue, who were deployed to rain obscenities on participants and guests alike.”, concluded the campaign council DG.
