The political clouds within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto state seem to take a more united shape than in the recent past, as followers, supporters and well wishers who share the party’s sentiment, anxiously await in jubilation, ahead of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko’s arrival in the seat of the caliphate this morning(Saturday).
Wamakko, who is the Chairman, Northern Senators Forum(NSF) is expected to arrive the state capital via the Sultan Abubakar International Airport, Sokoto along with incumbent Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Ahned Aliyu Sokoto, Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir, seven representatives lawmakers, Alhaji Farouk Malami Yabo, the state party Chairman and Alhaji Sadik Isah Achida among other notable politicians from Abuja.
However, the state capital and across LGs headquarters had since Wednesday when Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal defection rented the air, supporters, well wishers and like minds who share APC’s sentiment began drumming and expressing their unprecedented support for President Muhammadu Buhari across nook and crannies as well chanting ” Buhari Sak”, “Alun nan Dai”.
Similarly, posters and stickers of President Buhari, Senator Wamakko were visible in most parts of the state capital especially across Sokoto South and Sokoto North local government headquarters.
Not unexpected, were women, youth and all ages of supporters displaying their joy amidst ” Rarara’s” musical songs ” Masu Gudu, Su Gudu”.
” We are not shaken by the defection of Tambuwal to PDP. It symbolises good omen for us. Sokoto is for APC and Buhari remain dear to us. We are thankful to Allah and appreciate Wamakko’s political struggle and resilience to this point.
” Wamakko is a heroe going by his name ” Ali zakin fama. Senator Wamakko has the political structures across the state and we respect his ideals.
” We can’t thank Allah enough for the kind of wisdom, sense and spirit of human respect that is in Wamakko’s life for humanity. He accommodates and listen to all. Very accessible and friendly. Free with all and ready to support the poor”, a cross section of APC/Buhari SAK supporters were saying while jubilating in anticipation of Wamakko’s arrival and his team from Abuja today.
