Following the outbreak of a strange disease in Helele area, a suburb of Sokoto , the state capital, the state Ministry of Health has swiftly embarked on an active case search across communities in the state capital.
Earlier reports confirmed 4 deaths with over 24 other victims receiving treatment in different health facilities in the metropolis.
The case search and investigation are aimed at establishing the cause , proffering cure and prevention of the disease.
Meanwhile , Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who commiserated with the families of the victims who died as well those on admission, also raised a committee of experts to be headed by the Commissioners of Health and Environment.
Tambuwal therefore, called for calm and enjoined the public to observe the proper sanitation and hygiene habits while reminding them to be steadfast in supplications for divine intervention in the current challenging period.
