Sokoto police trails former governor Bafarawa’s son, Abdullahi, Saifullahi for homicide, arrest others for kidnapping, armed robbery, sodomy, others

DETERMINED to unravel crime and perpetrators in line with its “Puff Adar” operation initiative, the Sokoto state police command’s efforts has paid off as its in the trail of two murder suspects, Abdullahi Bafarawa a.k.a ‘Jokolo’ son of former governor Attahiru DAlhatu Bafarawa and one Shamsuddeen Lawal for allegedly committing culpable homicide.

Their conspirators, Saifullahi Aminu and Yusuf Maidamma Yabo  a.k.a Mai Dumguzu are in the state police net following their arrest by men of the command.

However, while briefing reporters , the state Commissioner of police, Mr Ibrahim Sani Ka’oje who paraded no fewer than 26 suspects arrested during separate operations for various heinous crimes committed across the state said on August 31st, 2019, one Sadiya Adamu of Kofar Kware lodge a complain at U/Rogo police stattio against one Shamsuddeen Aminu of Kano road area, Sokoto and Yusuf Maidamma Yabo a.k.a. Mai Dumguzu of same address for conspiring and luring her younger sister, Khadija Adamu, 26, (now deceased) for immoral purposes where they allegedly got her drugged to coma a stage she was rushed to the specialist hospital, Sokoto for treatment during which she died on September 4th, 2019.

” Sequel to this they gave out the said Khadija Adamu to one Abdullahi Bafarawa Aka Jakolo ‘m’ of Sokoto and Shamsudden Lawal ‘m’ of Kano State ( Both at large)  for such immoral purpose during which they allegedly drugged the said Khadija Adamu to a State of Coma of which she was rushed to specialist Hospital, Sokoto for treatment on the 30/08/2019 and died on 04/09/2019 while receiving treatment.

” Two suspects were arrested, while effort are being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects,” the Commissioner said.

In the same vein, Ka’oje confirmed the arrest of suspected kidnappers,  Baito Na’alti of Dalijan village, Kebbe and his gang members, following series of complains against them. 
Hitherto, the CP said the command had arrested  one Kabiru Bello ‘m’ of Mammande village in Gwadabawa local Government Area Sokoto having armed himself with a Knife, and hired a motorcyclist one Aliyu Usman ‘m’ of Kofar Kware Area Sokoto (now Deceased) from Sultan Palace area to Nakasarin Barebari along Western bye pass area, Sokoto where the suspect  deliberately stabbed the deceased on his neck and dispossessed him of his daylong motorcycle with registration No. TWB 38UQ.
While on their way, the suspect was said to had deliberately stabbed the deceased on his neck and Dispossessed him of his daylong motorcycle with registration Nunber TWB 38UQ.

The police also arrested suspected kidnappers,  Baito Na’alti of Dalijan village, Kebbe and his gang members, following series of complains against them.

According to Ka’oje, the suspects kidnapped 3 three persons and forcefully demanded a ransom of N4 million before their release.
” Na’alti and his gang also dispossessed one Alhaji Sani Maiwasha of his N500,000 while on a return trip from Tashar Margaiwhere they blocked and cart away with the money”, the police Boss said.

Also, the command disclosed the arrest of a three man syndicate suspects specialised in the theft of battery installations of street lights and  mobile communications  network service providers.

Those arrested by the command are: Kabiru Muhammad, Tukur Aliyu and Yahaya Abubakar for criminally conspiring to steal solar batteries at Koko road area in Sokoto.
Ka’oje said the trio while on investigation, confessed stealing of eight MTN and 5 Airtel solar batteries respectively at a village in Birnin Kebbi and Kwatarkwashi  in Zamfara state as well 16 solar batteries belonging to Airtel in Niger state in separate operations before they were arrested in possession of set of spanners in a Toyota Carina with registration number 155 AU.

Also listed in the spade of arrests, was a suspect, John Anthony for luring a 10year old Amina Dan Talatu to have unlawful canal knowledge of her in his room following her father’s (Muhammad Dan Talatu) report to the police.
” He was caught in the act when his victim raised alarm.”
Similarly, the Commissioner of police said it arrested one Abdulsalam Muhammad for luring one Zaharaddeen Isiyaku, 4, to forcefully have canal knowledge of him in an uncompleted building” His father, Isiyaku Aliyu of Marmarun Nufawa area reported to the police which prompted his arrest accordingly”, Ka’oje explained.

Meanwhile, Ka’oje advised the Sokoto state government to enact a law banning shi’ite activities in the state as did in Kaduna state.
He gave the advice while parading eight arrested  members of the group who along with other members seized AK 47 rifle from a police man during their Ashura procession in Illela local government area of the state.
The police Commissioner said  his men were able to recover the rifle but its magazine was still with them and they were making effort to recover it too
