Sokoto states development agenda focuses on same template – Governors Idris, Aliyu Sokoto

Kebbi state Governor, Nasiru Idris and his Sokoto state counterpart, Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto have resolved to work with same template to deliver the dividends of democracy to their people on whose mandate they serve.

The duo assured of bequeathing legacies of their mentors ( Senator Wamakko and Senator Bagudu) who worked round the clock and we’re still being remembered for their footprints on the sand of development in both Sokoto and Kebbi states.

The two governors who seem to have similar ideology in driving their agenda to satisfy the yearnings and aspirations of their people noted that they would ensure prudence in the management of resources available to their states for enhanced development.

Governor Idris made the disclosures in Sokoto weekend shortly after inaugurating two metropolitan road projects, Magajin Gari Aliyu road at the Sokoto central Eid praying ground and Bodinga road off Maiduguri Road respectively.

According Idris who is also a title holder of ‘Kauran Gwandu’ said ” we are all working towards adding value to our financial capacities through boosting our IGR inorder to focus more on infrastructural and other basic development projects especially at the grass roots.

He said ” we are two of a kind with like minds. All our projects are human oriented with direct bearing on the lives of our people.That is why we are working as a family by instituting tangible projects that are visible for all see.

” Seeing is believing and I have testified that the two of us have vision for our states. My Sokoto state counterpart has made positive inroad with one despite the decayed state of infrastructure inherited”, pointed out Idris who also inaugurated the distribution of 300 units of grinding machines as empowerment tool for women, commended governor Aliyu Sokoto for actualising the process of delivering his 9-points smart agenda with focus.

Speaking, Governor Aliyu Sokoto
said his government will continue to drive meaningful policies and programmes aimed at advancing the economic prosperity of the state through the execution of basic human oriented projects that would touch the lives of people at the least level of the grassroots.

He disclosed that the two road projects awarded and completed at the cost of over N968 million would add to the numerous others in linking communities and drive the economy with ease in terms of the movement of goods, farm produce and services.

” It will ease and facilitate transportation services.”, he pointed out while explaining that the contracting firms were indigenous with reputation for delivering quality jobs according to specification and within the earliest or latest possible time.

” We appreciate ZBBC and Roads Nigeria for delivering within time brackets”,he said.

According to the governor ” our administration is determined to drive deliberate policies and programmes that would boost our economy, enhance self reliance and growth”, he stressed.
