Members of the St. Bakhitha of the Sokoto Catholic Diocese yesterday joined in a road walk crusade to create awareness against the dangers of trafficking in person in Sokoto.
The walk which started as early as 8:30am from the Marina area Fire service station took the long procession of both the members and officials of NAPTIP through Emir Yahaya- Bello Way- Matuta to Aliyu Jodi and terminated at the St. Bakhita Secretariat.
The walk is organised by St. Bakhitha in collaboration with the Sokoto Zonal Command of NAPTIP to awaken the public on the ills associated with the social vice in human trafficking.
However, several placards with different inscriptions condemning the menace were displayed during the almost 3km walk in the city of Sokoto.
” No one is born a slave; A human life is not an object; No one can own anyone; End the misery. Stop human trafficking”, were some of the messages by the members in procession under the strict watch of the police, SSS and officials of the FRSC.
