The Eastern Cape-based team officially announced the 30-year-old shot-stopper’s return via their social media handles on Sunday ahead of the upcoming 2026/2027 Betway Premiership campaign.

Nwabali initially parted ways with the Chilli Boys in February 2026 by mutual consent after formally requesting a release to pursue new professional challenges following his breakout performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.

Despite heavy transfer speculation linking the former Enyimba and Katsina United goalkeeper to clubs across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, a formal move failed to materialize.

The subsequent five-month layoff from competitive club action ultimately impacted his regular match fitness, costing him his active starting role in Nigeria’s senior national team setup.

With pre-season training underway, the veteran keeper returns to a familiar environment where he previously logged 66 league appearances since first arriving in 2022.

The reconciliation offers Nwabali an immediate pathway to claim consistent first-team minutes, revive his club career, and solidify his position as the Super Eagles’ preferred number one ahead of upcoming international qualifiers.
