Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state has approved the appointment of a new Wazirin Sokoto, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu.
The new Wazirin Sokoto, Sambo Wali, a Professor of Arabic at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, succeeded his brother, late Waziri Junaidu who died few months ago following a protracted illness.
Tambuwal’s approval contained in a release issued Tuesday night by the Sokoto Sultanate Council signed by Umar Faruk Ladan, Secretary of the Council, followed the recommendation of the Sultanate Council which also saw the appointment of new District Heads.
” All the appointments took effect with immediate effect from the 29th of November, 2017″, the release said.
The new District Heads include: Alh. Kabiru C. Alhassan(Wurno) and Sarkin Sudan of Wurno; Alh. Bello Usman(Dange) and Sarkin Bauren Dange; Alh. Nasiru Shehu Umar(Dogon Daji) and Sarkin Yamman Dogon Daji while Alh. Sada Abubakar Dikko is for (Gande) and Dikkon Dange.
Similarly,the release said the new appointees would be officially turbanned on Saturday, December 9th,2017 by Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III at the Banquet Hall of the Sultan’s palace, Sokoto by 11am.
