Sokoto state Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal yesterday swore in three new commissioners with portfolios respectively.
Those sworn were a former HoRs member, Hon. Gwanda Gobir to head Water Resources Ministry, Prof. Aminu Abubakar, Ministry of Agiculture and Hassan Muhammadu Maccido in charge of Home Affairs accordingly.
At the brief ceremony held in Government House, Sokoto Chamber, Tambuwal urged the trio to exhibit high senses of commitment, responsibility ,maturity and good conduct in discharging their duties for the benefit of the state.
The governor who congratulated the newly appointed commissioners also charged the to Marshal their experiences, knowledge and expertise in the conduct of their respective and official assignments.
” Your appointments are based on merit and hope you will add value by contributing your quota to the development of the state.”
However, Hon. Gobir takes the place of Hon. Umar Bature, erstwhile Commissioner for Water Resources, elevated to the position of the National Organizing Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) last week.
The other two new Commissioners replace those who passed on: late Hon. Jeli Abubakar III and late Hon. Muhammadu Arzika Tureta, former Commissioners of Home Affairs and Agriculture respectively.
