JALINGO, Taraba State — The Rector of Taraba State Polytechnic, Suntai, Dr. Amos Agbu, has praised Governor Agbu Kefas for what he described as unprecedented support for the institution, saying the assistance has transformed the polytechnic and positioned it for greater national recognition.

Dr. Agbu made the remarks while receiving a certificate of commendation from members of the media. He said the recognition was not a personal achievement but a reflection of the collective efforts of the institution’s management team.
“This award is an encouragement to me, and I dedicate it to my entire management staff. Our achievements are not solely my efforts, but a collaborative effort with my management staff, who have worked tirelessly alongside me to propel this institution forward,” he said.
The rector thanked the media for the recognition and their continued support, adding that the institution’s leadership remains committed to leaving a lasting legacy.
“Our earnest desire is to leave a lasting legacy and surpass the current state of affairs when our tenure ends,” he said.
Dr. Agbu attributed the institution’s recent progress to the support of Governor Kefas, describing him as a leader committed to improving education in the state.
“We are committed to delivering our best, as our governor is a man of action who matches his words with deeds and has a genuine passion for education,” he said.
He noted that the state government’s support had enabled the polytechnic to introduce Higher National Diploma (HND) programs and secure accreditation for more than 20 academic programs across various disciplines.
According to the rector, the institution has also gained wider national recognition and is preparing to hold its first convocation ceremony since it was established.
“In all sincerity, we have never had a governor who has supported our institution to this extent. During his tenure, he has made funds available for our progress, enabling us to introduce HND programs and secure accreditation for over 20 programs across various disciplines,” Dr. Agbu said.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Kefas for what he described as sustained investment in the growth and development of the institution, saying the support has laid the foundation for continued academic advancement.
