Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga confirmed the appointments on Thursday, December Eighteen, Two Thousand and Twenty-Five, following the Senate’s confirmation of the nominees earlier that week. Dr. Oseni, who began his journey with the commission as a commissioner in January Two Thousand and Seventeen, had previously served as its Vice Chairman before this elevation.
Under the new structure, Dr. Yusuf Ali has been designated as the Vice Chairman, a role he officially assumed on December One, Two Thousand and Twenty-Five.
Other confirmed members of the seven-man board include Nathan Rogers Shatti, Dafe Akpeneye, and Aisha Mahmud Kanti Bello—all of whom are returning for their second terms. They are joined by Dr. Chidi Ike and new appointee Dr. Fouad Animashaun.
President Tinubu has charged the refreshed leadership to strictly implement the Electricity Act of Two Thousand and Twenty-Three to accelerate the transformation of the nation’s power sector.
