The Minister of Budget and National Economic Planning , Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu says President Bola Tinubu is resolute at ensuring massive transformation in infrastructure, boost in agriculture and social intervention for Nigerian citizens.
He said the ongoing rapid expansion, construction and rehabilitation of the country’s high ways to enhance better transportation network for business flow and other economic activities were pointers aimed at achieving the renewed hope agenda.
However, Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto while inaugurating the distribution of FG 12,367 bags of 25kg of rice palliative to IDPs, destitutes, Imams, PLWD, needy and the have nots on Wednesday in Sokoto commended President Tinubu for putting smiles in the faces of Nigerians who were in need of intervention to cushion the effects of current hardship and cost of living.
” We gladly appreciate and received 20 trucks of grains and 60 trucks of fertilizers from FG for distribution to our people free.
” We also at the state level have complemented the efforts of Mr President in like manner . It is a sign that Tinubu has listening ears and ready to serve Nigerians”, the governor said explaining that other measures he initiated include students loan and social investment.
” We distributed 9,200 bags of rice with N5,000 to each beneficiary through the state Zakkat and Endowment as additional efforts to bring relief to residents”, the governor said.
In the same direction, Aliyu Sokoto disclosed a N6bn dam project construction being planned for the state by the president at a location within Bodinga, Dange Shuni and Tureta LGs.
Similarly, the governor acknowledged with appreciation to President Tinubu for directing Service Chiefs to relocate to Sokoto inorder to end the menace of insecurity occasioned by banditry, Kidnapping and other sundry crimes threatening not only the state but Northwest region.
Accordingly, Bagudu who spoke at the event also explained that the president was in tune with his vision and mission to give Nigerians purposeful leadership through good governance noting that, the current economic down turn was not peculiar to Nigeria but a global experience occasioned by fundamental economic shortfalls , climate change and environmental related issues.
” Nigerians must not fail to understand that our President is committed to repositioning the country with focus on agriculture , social intervention and enhancing the capacity of river basins to boost food production and security as well aquatic venture”, he said.
The former governor of Kebbi state noted that there was the need to unite and strengthen the capacity of Nigeria as a nation inorder to harness it potentials for maximum benefit of all.
” We need to focus more on providing inputs as fertilisers to farmers and encourage animal husbandry venture among other critical areas that will genuinely benefit Nigerians.
He said President Tinubu was committed and mindful of the security challenges explaining that Nigeria’s situation was one that demanded empathy, commitment and solution driven approach hence, the need to collecting ve support the efforts of FG towards ensuring a peaceful, stable and progressive Nigeria with opportunities for citizens to thrive positively for nation building.
” Soon Nigeria will sail out of the myriad of problems being experienced”, he assured.
In his brief remarks, Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, Senior Special Assistant to President Tinubu said the President shared the pains Nigerians were going through stressing that Tinubu has empathy for all citizens.
He said he had the confidence and optimism that President Tinubu would by the grace of God do the needful to sail the country out of the challenges bedevelling it.
Masari also poured encomiums on the purposeful role of Senator Aliyu Wamakko for his leadership strides that gave President Tinubu winning swing at the polls and returning Sokoto to the mainstream politics.
” Wamakko has been a wonderful political path finder for decades not only in Sokoto also in the Northwest “, he noted in appreciation of the former Sokoto state governor as acknowledged by dignitaries in attendance at the brief ceremony which included former governor Yahaya Abdulkareem, Sokoto Deputy governor, Ahmed Idris Gobir, representative of Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, former deputy governors Chuso Abdullahi Dattijo and Hassan Nasiha of Zamfara state , former Minister of Police Affairs , Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, SSG Bello Sifawa, state APC Chairman, Sadiq Isah Achida among criss section of others as Hafsatu Mu’azu , one of the beneficiaries of the president gestures thanked him for the empathy and commended the governor for the show of concern to the entire people of Sokoto state.
