Dr Kulu Haruna Abubakar, a former Commissioner Sokoto state and Director Tinubu/Shettima
Campaign Council, NorthWest has bagged the
Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development
Merit Award.
The awardee was along other deserving eminent Nigerians honoured for distinguishing themselves for the development of women folks.
The event was held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja at dinner at tagged “Champions of Change” by MBNCWD.
Dr Kulu had served serially in various executive capacities under six Sokoto State Governors .
She was a Director General, Commissioner, Ministries of Education, Commerce and Industries, Science and Technology as well two times Special Adviser respectively.
Besides, she is a recipient of National Merit Award of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) and of course, seventh times recipient of Certificate of Merit from the Famous University of Madina.
Dr. Kulu Haruna Abubakar had in 1997 carved a niche for herself for emerging the first and only Commissioner honoured for initiating Community participation in Education in Sokoto State.
Furthermore, she was the Initiator of Sokoto State Women Centre for Continuing Education and Public Transportation System for Female Day Students in Sokoto State in 1996 among other strides.
The ceremony was attended by personalities including the wife of the Vice President, the immediate past Minister of Women Affairs, Wives of state Governor’s, Director General, MBNCWD and politicians from across the country.
