Titi Abubakar launches campaign to end Gender Based Violence

Titi Abubakar, wife of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party Atiku Abubakar has launched a campaign to end Gender Based Violence in Nigeria.

Speaking at the launch of the ‘SHE2Orange Nigeria Project’ in Abuja, Titi stated that the campaign reaffirmed her commitment to the elimination and prevention of gender-based violence that affects women, men, boys and girls all around the world.

She stated that the campaign would appoint 37 coordinators to organise 16 youths across the country to make contribution to their communities, schools, workplaces and homes by becoming Orang4WARRD volunteers.
While launching two publications that feature 100 Women in Political Leadership as voices against gender-based Violence, she said violence against women and girls was an extreme manifestation of gender inequality and systemic gender-based discrimination.

Titi said The right of women and children to live free of violence depends on the protection of their human rights and a strong chain of justice. DAILY TRUST
