A formal letter of complaint by a mother of a newborn baby girl alleging a nursing officer working with the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital(UDUTH),Sokoto of causing injury to her baby has reached the hospital management.
The hospital Principal Information, officer, Mansur Wadata who in a statement made available to reporters confirmed receipt of the letter said the hospital management was investigating the matter to authenticate the claim.
According to Wadata” We wish to state and assure the general public that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against whoever is found wanting in accordance with civil service rules and condition of service of the hospital .”
The hospital management according to the statement said ” UDUTH is ever ready to work with relevant investigative authorities in carrying out full scale investigation to ensure that those involved are made to face full wrath of the law.”
While reassuring the public that the hospital management would not in anyway derail from its core values for excellence and credible performance, the statement noted that transparency, professionalism , respect for rights of its client and discipline would not be compromised in the provision of its services.
Sequel to that, the hospital hitherto, frowned at any act of indiscipline by any of its staff while assuring the public of the hospital’s commitment towards ensuring strict discipline against unethical and unprofessional conduct by any of its staff.
” UDUTHS management therefore, calls for patience from its clients (patients) and the general public as it will continue to ensure the safety of patients and their relations”, the statement concluded.
