United State, AFCFTA signs MoU to advance Trade

The United States Chamber of Commerce, through its subsidiary, US-Africa Business Center, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the African Continental Free Trade Area to advance trade between the US and Africa.

The MoU was signed on Tuesday to launch a working group to help advance trade and investment between the U.S. and Africa.

The announcement on the US Chamber of Commerce website revealed that the MoU reaffirmed the country’s commitment to elevating a robust private sector voice in AfCFTA implementation.

Scott Eisner, President of the U.S.-Africa Business Center, said, the Coordination between the private sector and the AfCFTA is key to unlocking Africa’s full economic potential and as the world’s leading business organization, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a strong voice for private sector business, which is a major stakeholder and beneficiary of the AfCFTA.
