The Vice-president Professor Yemi Osinbajo receives grand reception on his arrival in Jalingo, the Taraba State Capital. He was received at the airport by His Excellency, Arch. Ishaku Darius, the Executive Governor of Taraba State and top government functionaries.
Mr. Osinbajo Visit was to commission some projects executed by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Arch. Ishaku Darius. He commissioned the 6.5 kilometer road, Taraba Green House and water project.
He was hosted at Government house where he had interaction with traditional rulers, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders. He called for the peaceful coexistence amongst the people of Taraba State. Urging them to leave in peace with one another. “Everybody should work for the unity of Taraba State and that of Nigeria. I also commended the effort of your Governor, we appreciate what he is doing to ensure that peace reign in Taraba State”.
In the same, Governor, Ishaku Darius thanked Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo for taking out time from his busy schedule to visit Taraba State. “We the people of Taraba State, we appreciate your coming to our state at this point time. We will continue to promote peace in and unity here in Taraba State and also to remain one Nigeria”.
After his tour to the state, Mr. Osinbajo Departed from Jalingo Airport around 6:20 pm in the evening.
Meanwhile, another drama took place at the airport after the departure of the Vice-president. Where Governor Ishaku Dickinson Darius embraced his rival Aisha Alhassan “Mama Taraba”, the current minister for women affairs.
Governor Darius ran after Hon. Aisha and held her hand and both boasted into laughter, which they have not done since the 2015 general election.
