SENATOR Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko on Thursday admonished Nigerians to live in peace with each other, irrespective of religious , political, cultural and ethnic affinities.

Wamakko, who is the Chairman Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti Corruption, also dispassionately appealed to the citizenry to sustain their centuries-old bonds of friendship, harmony and mutual coexistence for the unity of the country as their mega home.

In a release which contained  Eid-Adha 1441 AH message to the Nigerian Muslims issued by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity,   Bashir Rabe Mani , Senator Wamakko who also doubles as the Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum said ” We should also continue to be our brothers’ keepers, so as to collectively bolster peace, unity and the even socioeconomic development of the country .

” The Almighty Allah has created us in different ways, with varying potentials and faiths, cultures and ethnicities .

” But , our rich diversities should serve as our formidable unifying factors and not dividing ones.  The Almighty Allah has not made a mistake by creating us together in Nigeria .”

Accordingly, on the raging global Corona Virus Pandemic ( COVID-19), the Sokoto North Senatorial District lawmaker urged Nigerians to continue to  pray fervently for urgent divine solutions, as well as strictly observe all the laid down protocols.

”  Nigerians should continue to use face masks, wash their hands with soup regularly , use hand sanitizers , drink water regularly, as well as maintain social distancing, among others .”

Wamakko, while noting the security situation of the country,  assured that, the National Assembly would continue to effectively partner with the other arms of government and the security agencies , to further secure the lives and properties of all citizens and residents of Nigeria .
