In what looked like a renewed show of popularity, despite the tribunal ruling last Wednesday against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its Governorship candidate in the March 2019 elections , Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, the seat of the caliphate on Saturday, got politically revived by a mammoth crowd of supporters in solidarity with the opposition APC in the state.

However, it was like a renewal of confidence and hope in the journey of the party as the crowd expressed conviction that their leaders were keeping fate in euphoria.

Triumphantly as it were, they were besieged by the anxiously waiting crowd in a long motorcade who drove on the 10 kilometre distance to Wamakko’s Gawon Nama Sokoto residence in the metropolis amidst political slogans.

” Sakkwatawa ga Baba Alu. Yabon gwani ya zama dole. Insha Allahu Ahmed Ali sai ya zama gwamnana Sakkwatawa” as captured ” Sokoto people, here is our father ALU. We have to celebrate and appreciate our political master. By God’s grace and blessings, Ahmed Aliyu will be governor of Sokoto state.”
