Wamakko donates transformer to Sokoto community as residents sang ‘ Sai Alu’

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti Corruption, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has donated a 300 KVA transformer to the Badon Barade Community, Wamakko Local Government of Sokoto State.

The donation which came handy to the community in dire need of it following the grounded 200 KVA transformer that had been beyond repairs and long not in use needing total replacement either by the state government or concerned authorities, in spite of myriad of pleas and complaints by the residents of the community but to no avail.
The new transformer which had since been installed and energized, was handed over to the community by the Director of Administration to Senator Wamakko, Alhaji Almustapha Abubakar Alkali, on behalf of the Senator,who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District.

Senator Wamakko according to a release by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bashir Rabe Mani said that, the gesture was his widow’s mite to the community, to alleviate their suffering which was caused by the prolonged dearth of electricity .

He urged the residents to jealously guard the facility from vandals, while they should use the electricity wisely and judiciously.

Responding on behalf of the benefiting community, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Bello Jijji Bado, lauded Senator Wamakko for the invaluable gesture and pledged the judicious use of the transformer.

The Chairman further noted that, with the happy development, the socioeconomic activities of the residents would henceforth be greatly bolstered.

However, the elated residents of the community the release said  thronged the location where the transformer was domiciled and installed, chanting assorted slogans like , ” Sai Alu, Alun Nan Dai Na Gawon Nama and Muna Nan Daram, Sai Bakaki Na Gawon Nama,” among others
