Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko(APC-Sokoto) on Friday held bilateral talks with the President of Niger republic, Alhaji Muhammadou Isufou in Niamey, Nigerien capital.
Though, what was discussed by the duo was not made known to the public.
The two countries of Nigeria and Niger republic sharing common border have been in their trying moments of security challenges posed by the Boko Haram insurgency which is being depleted.
Wamakko according to Bashir Rabe Mani, Special Assistant to the lawmaker on Media and Publicity in a statement was in Niger republic on a 2-day official visit.
However, the talks which was behind closed doors had in attendance Senator Wamakko, members of his entourage, President Isoufou and the Prime Minister, Mr Brigi Rafini.
The statement said the two leaders however discussed issues affecting the two countries.
On the delegation of Senator Wamakko were Senator Mustapha Bukar, representing Katsina North Senatorial District, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Alhaji Sahabi Isa Gada, Sarkin Kudun Daura, Alhaji Abdullahi Bukar, former Chairman of Sokoto North Local Government, Alhaji Abdullahi Hassan and Mr Peter Butt.
