THE twenty-five indigenous students of Sokoto for Graduate and Postgraduate studies at the University of Lahore, Pakistan under the sponsorship of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, got some boost when the lawmaker visited them.
This is contained in a statement issued to reporters in Sokoto Wednesday by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bashir Rabe Mani.
The statement explained that, Senator Wamakko, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education is on a one-week official visit to Pakistan where he seized opportunity to visit the students to monitor and assess them as well boost their morale.
The statement further stated that, the students are studying various courses ranging from Medical, Information, Communication and Technology, as well as Administration.
This is in addition to other students currently studying in other Universities abroad such as the University of Medina, as well as others in Ghana, Benin, Sudan and Niger Republics.
The statement further averred that, the lawmaker who was a former Governor of the state is also sponsoring several other students at the Diloque Computer Institute, Kaduna, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, ,Sokoto and Sokoto State University, among others.
