Upon taking office, Gafiya noted that the SUBEB system was functioning smoothly. He emphasized the importance of continuous support from His Excellency, Dr Dikko Umaru Radda, the Governor of Katsina State, to further enhance the quality of education. “We requested the support of His Excellency, and we were able to assess the conditions of classrooms and the commitment level of teachers,” he stated. He praised the teachers for their dedication to imparting knowledge professionally, with a passion for transforming the education sector.

Gafiya highlighted that all funds allocated to the board for elevating and renovating schools, as well as for teacher training, were used judiciously. The board focused on enhancing the quality of both teachers and students in the education sector. “With what we’ve achieved, we’re still on track to meet our targets and develop more projects within SUBEB,” he remarked.

The Chairman also discussed the engagement of independent consultants to ensure the success of various initiatives. He mentioned that the board benefited from counterpart funds from both the state government and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC). Additionally, His Excellency approved substantial funds, which facilitated the construction of essential social amenities in both primary and secondary schools across the state.

In his closing remarks, Alh. Gafiya expressed his gratitude to His Excellency, Dr Dikko Umaru Radda, for his unwavering support and numerous contributions to the board.
