We are not joining issues with PDP over police duties’ – APC replies opposition

By Ado Hassan, Sokoto

THE All Progressive Congress(APC) in Sokoto state has vowed not to join issues with the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state over allegations against the Nigeria Police.

The later had earlier yesterday accused the police of been partisan with overwhelming involvement in promoting the bidding of APC by intimidating, harassment, unlawful arrests and detention of its members and supporters.

The state Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress(APC),  Alhaji Sambo Bello Danchadi while reacting to what he described as purported claims by the PDP against the Police, noted that the police was a lawful and professional security organisation established and mandated by the constitution with responsibility of ensuring peace and maintenance of law and order as well protect lives and property of citizens.

According o Danchadi, ” the Nigeria police is respected world wide for its excellent track   records of professionalism and non partisanship in  cases of dispute among individuals  and parties.

” The APC therefore dissociates itself and deemed it fit to  allow the Nigeria Police to speak for themselves  on this matter.”

While he was not surprised at the  unfounded claims by the PDP, Danchadi noted that Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko  has always being their albatros because where ever they went in Sokoto,  chanting “Sai  ALU’ were the order of the day.

Danchadi, further explained that the PDP recent tours of the state and negative responses they received from the generality of the people in the state has  continued to dampened and worsened their desperation, as such,  resorted to attacking the police without reasonable evidence.

End.
