Prince Umar Shehu Idris, the son of the late Emir of Zazzau, tragically passed away after a brief illness at a hospital in Zaria a family source has revealed, contrary to earlier reports that he died in a car accident along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway.

According to updated information, the 41-year-old, also known as Dan Isan Zazzau, served as the Assistant Secretary to the Zazzau Emirate Council. He is survived by two wives and two children.
This loss comes just over a month after the passing of his biological mother, the late wife of Emir Shehu Idris, who was also the mother-in-law of the current Emir, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli. The Zazzau Emirate’s Media and Publicity Officer, Mallam Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, confirmed the news of the death, with burial arrangements yet to be announced.
