2023: PDP Assurance group frowns at South/North confusion over zoning, reels Atiku’s flow

By Suleiman Adamu, Sokoto

Bracing ahead of the 2023 polls, PDP Assurance Group with offices across states, has began wide spread awareness campaign to tame the ongoing confusion between the south and north over zoning of presidential ticket.

It noted with concern that political parties and key players were the primary architects of current political issues faced in the country especially in the opposition PDP which it alleged was promoting injustice in its affairs.

Speaking to reporters in Sokoto, its Patron , Murtala Alkali Dahiru said its unfortunate that PDP has a lot on its hands to sort out without which it will be inimical and injurious to its quest for taking over power from the ruling APC government at the centre.

He said ” We should avoid politics of religion, tribe or section. All Nigerians need is anyone with the qualities and competence irrespective of background to salvage democratic dividend thirsty citizens.”

According to Dahiru, Nigerian youth and the indigent should be wise to decide for themselves who they want and should lead them to realise their dreams and aspirations for social economic prosperity.

On zoning presidential tickets to a section of the country, Dahiru said doing that was like denying eligible candidates and Nigerians their right to contest and vote for candidates of their choice.

” PDP should also know that Nigerians are fast clamouring for return of the party to power and for that, the party should provide a level play ground for interested candidates from all parts of the country to participate in its primaries and whoever emerges, should be supported to victory.

” It is truly undemocratic for our politics to take the dimension of zoning at this time of our current challenges with outright failure of the state to secure the lives of its citizens with the crumbling economy occasioned by high cost of living, unemployment and naira depreciation”, pointed out.

According to Dahiru who cited former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as a true Nigerian with patriotic mind and a nationalist of repute, said the Wazirin Adamawa believed and dream of a prosperous Nigeria with economic independence for the benefit of citizens.

This, he stressed were manifested in his industrious nature to change the lives of fellow Nigerians through a number of investment windows he personally created that gave employment to youths and households as means for their livelihood.

” Atiku has been a supportive model to so many young Nigerians through businesses he established.

” No fewer than 50,000 to 60,000 Nigerians have gainfully secured jobs in Faro Water Company, ABTI University, Radio/TV Gotel, Animal Feeds Production company, among many others including in the Oil and Gas “, he mentioned.

He said the former Nigerian number two citizen who never fails to identify with his paternal root, Wurno in Sokoto state has the political requisites as well business exposures, links and experience that can help redirect a change in the socioeconomic policies architecture of the country to bounties and fortunes for the benefit of an average Nigerian citizen.

” Atiku is a socioeconomic fortune multiplier factor . In him is a leader and man of the people with team spirit for Nigeria’s development. We should see the wisdom in him and rise to support his person as next choice for the country”, he urged.
