The Coalition of APC supporters group wing of the All Progressives Congress in Sokoto state on Wednesday distanced it self from alleged formal collapse of its structure into the PDP, vowing that it will resist all desperate measures by PDP to mislead the public on the group’s focus, strength , loyalty and support for APC as a popular choice for Sokoto people.
It said the group remain formidable, vibrant and purposeful in support of the political pursuits of APC in the state.
Accordingly, it frowned at the alleged unfounded figments of claims saying were only hatched by some persons masquerading as the leadership of the group to make a formal declaration and support for the PDP.
” We also wish to express our disgust and wondered why these outsiders are so desperate to impersonate the group and destabilize the party.”
In a vehement reaction to the development at a press conference in Sokoto, Comrade Sulaiman T. Mahmud , Special Assistant on Youths and Students matters to Senator Aliyu Wamakko who described the show as as an attempt by some unidentified persons to use the party’s group to throw their weight behind the PDP in the state, said “we are aware of the heinous plans by some persons masquerading as the leadership of the group to make a formal declaration and support for the PDP.
” The Coalition of APC Supporters’ Groups, as you may be aware, is a Coalition of loyal party youth groups, with vast grassroot political experience, reach and exposure, spread across Sokoto State who always protect the interests , promotes the manifesto and preaches the ideology of APC to the electorate across the state.
” The progressive youths in Sokoto state need no introduction when it comes to the ability to change the narratives in the arena of political wrestling.
” We wish to state categorically that those behind the move are persons being sponsored by the unpopular and failed PDP administration in the state”, Mahmud pointed out.
He insisted that ” the dimension of the development was no other than a desperate move and gang-up to ensure that we don’t succeed in our bid to dislodge the unpopular and failed PDP administration in Sokoto state.
” Those behind the plan were the agents of their paymasters who worked for them during the chairmanship tussle in the state”, he said.
However, the opposition APC in the state added ” we wish to strongly and categorically state that those behind the plot are not part of our party and are not known to our youths coalition group. We also vehemently reject their dastardly planned action.”
Mahmud hitherto said APC in the state will not be deterred in its visionary movement towards ensuring support and victory of the party at the Presidential, Senatorial, House of Representatives, Governorship and the State House of Assembly elections in Sokoto state.
” We urge the general public to be wary of the antics of the desperate politicians with the opposition PDP, who are employing all desperate measures in misleading members of the public as regards the popularity of the APC, and the capacity to rescue Sokoto state from the failed PDP administration.”
While urging APC supporters and Sokoto people to ignore all insinuations, reports and claims on collapse of the group, the coalition said it remained united in the struggle an will not be cowed down nor be distracted.
” There is no cause for alarm and we remain united in the struggle and won’t be cowed down and we will not be distracted, hence, we urge the people of the state to ignore any report of the collapse, of the COALITION OF APC SUPPORTERS’ GROUPS structure into the PDP, as such only exists in the imagination of those behind such failed exercise.”
Mahmud added” APC u DER the watchful leadership of Senator Wamakko and chairmanship of Sadik Achida is fast waxing stronger and popular in readiness to win all elective positions in 2023 in Sokoto state and Nigeria.”
