The FCT Primary Health Care Board (FCT-PHCB) has authorized PrimeSafePath Solutions Ltd to pilot its innovative digital platform, MaternalRecordPro, in selected Primary Health Centers (PHCs) across Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and Bwari Area Council.

This platform was developed in partnership with the Theodora Anavhe Adamu Foundation (TAAF) and is supported by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under the IgniteHer Initiative.

MaternalRecordPro aims to transform PHC processes by integrating Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR) into daily healthcare workflows.

According to Odion Ikyo, CEO of PrimeSafePath Solutions, “This authorization marks a critical step toward visibility and accountability in Nigeria’s primary health system.”

With MaternalRecordPro, the company empowers PHCs to capture, analyze, and act on data in real time, ultimately reducing preventable maternal and newborn deaths. This initiative aligns with Nigeria’s National MPDSR Policy and global priorities outlined in Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3), leveraging digital innovation and real-time surveillance to drive meaningful change.

MaternalRecordPro is designed to streamline maternal health data collection, ensuring real-time monitoring and facilitating quicker, more informed decision-making. Some of its notable features include:

Prenatal appointment and medication reminders for expectant mothers.
Improved accuracy to guide maternal interventions and enhance healthcare outcomes.Bringing About Positive Change

The pilot implementation of MaternalRecordPro is expected to significantly improve maternal healthcare in the FCT. By providing a platform for real-time data capture and analysis, MaternalRecordPro will enable healthcare providers to identify areas needing improvement and make data-driven decisions to reduce maternal and newborn mortality rates.

With its innovative approach and potential for impact, MaternalRecordPro is poised to make a lasting difference in the lives of women and children in Nigeria.
