President Bola Tinubu has officially nominated Christopher Gwabin Musa as the new Minister of Defence.
His nomination was conveyed to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, in a letter submitted by the President.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, disclosed Musa’s nomination in a statement issued on Tuesday afternoon.
In the letter, President Tinubu expressed confidence in General Musa’s ability to lead the Ministry of Defence and further strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture.
This nomination comes just days after the former Defence Minister, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, resigned from the position on health grounds.
