Gusau shared these updates on Monday during a meeting with Philip Shaibu, the Director General of the National Institute for Sports (NIS).
Shaibu visited the NFF secretariat to seek a strategic partnership for the NIS’s ambitious two-year plan to bridge a deficit of two million coaches across Nigerian sports.
During the visit, Gusau highlighted the federation’s ongoing commitment to technical development, noting that 30 female coaches who completed a first-of-its-kind CAF C Licence programme in 2024 are slated to return for their B Licence upgrade next year.
The NFF is currently working to secure final approval from CAF to stage the high-level A Licence course, which aims to further professionalize coaching standards in the country.
