Due to their status as Africa’s most successful national team, the Super Falcons have been granted a bye into the second round of the qualifiers.

They will begin their campaign against the winner of a preliminary match between Sudan and Comoros.

The qualification journey features a total of 35 nations competing across five knockout rounds played on a home-and-away basis.

The preliminary round, involving the six lowest-ranked teams including Sudan and Comoros, is scheduled for June 2026.

Winners from that stage will advance to the second round to face top-seeded teams such as Nigeria, South Africa, and Ghana.

With only two slots available for African representatives at the 2028 Games, the Falcons will need to navigate the remaining rounds to secure their place on the global stage. PUNCH
