VeryDarkMan Slams Presidency Over AI Video Controversy and Rising Insecurity

Popular social media critic and influencer Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has reacted furiously to an AI-generated clip linked to him, launching a scathing attack on presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga and accusing the federal government of misplaced priorities amid worsening national insecurity.

The backlash follows a vow by the Presidency to prosecute the activist for allegedly sharing a fabricated audio clip of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In the viral AI-generated recording, a voice mimicking the President claimed that insecurity would persist across Nigeria because citizens did not vote for him during the 2023 presidential election.

In a video response posted on his social media page, a visibly angry VeryDarkMan blasted Onanuga, calling him “stupid” and “daft,” and firmly stated that he has no intention of defending the controversial, deepfake clip.

Shifting the focus to pressing national security issues, VDM questioned why the Presidency was quick to react to online clips while remaining largely silent over the recent abduction of teachers and students in Oyo State.

He further alleged that one of the kidnapped teachers had been beheaded while the remaining victims were left languishing in captivity over the Children’s Day period.
