Senator Tinubu made the appeal on Saturday in Lokoja, Kogi State, during the official launch of the National Community Food Basket, an initiative aimed at mitigating food insecurity and malnutrition across the country.

Highlighting the significant economic challenges facing the nation, the First Lady emphasized that the burden of alleviating poverty is too immense for the Federal Government to bear alone.

Referencing the philanthropic work of Senegalese-American singer Akon, she urged Nigerian music icons to look beyond their personal successes and actively contribute to the welfare of the vulnerable.

While acknowledging that enjoying the rewards of a successful career—such as purchasing luxury vehicles is acceptable, Senator Tinubu stressed that these achievements should not be the sole focus.

She stated, noting that the influence and resources of Nigeria’s entertainment elite could play a transformative role in supporting the less privileged.
