The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has described the recent bye-election in the state as a remarkable success, particularly in terms of voter turnout.

The party’s Publicity Secretary in the state, Murtala Usman, said the level of participation recorded during the election was significant, especially against the backdrop of voter apathy often associated with bye-elections in some parts of the country.
Usman noted that, unlike in some other bye-elections where only a relatively small proportion of registered voters participate, the Gombe election witnessed substantial participation by voters.
He also pointed to the relatively high number of votes recorded during the exercise when compared with figures from some other recent bye-elections across the country.
According to him, the development demonstrated continued public interest in the electoral process and reflected the growing political engagement of residents of the state.
The APC spokesman attributed part of the party’s growing support in Gombe to the infrastructural development initiatives of the state government under Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
Usman said the administration’s projects and programmes had helped to strengthen public confidence in the APC, adding that the party’s performance in the bye-election could have implications for its political prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Yahaya for what he described as his administration’s contributions to the development of the state, saying the APC would continue to build on the confidence it had gained among the electorate.
The party official, however, stressed the importance of sustaining engagement with the people and ensuring that government programmes continue to address the needs of residents across the state.
