Chief Coach of the AFSA Football Club of Ekpoma has taken his team to the Edo State Football League Finals holding in Benin City the Edo State capital.
The full names of AFSA FC is Alter of Fire Solution Assembly owned by Pastor Kismet, the senior pastor of AFSA.
Coach Igene overcame all odds and scaled all obstacles to take his boys through the stages of the game and eventually beating the big teams from around the state to emerge and lock horns with BJ FC of Benin City in the grand finale match scheduled to hold on the 10th of September 2019 at University of Benin Sports Complex.
The Esan Youths Movement (EYM) use this medium to congratulate Coach Igene and his versatile team for going thus far in the tournament breaking records from the time of the Midwest Region, Bendel State and Now Edo State, it is the first time a team from Esanland attained such feat in the highly competitive State Football League.
Speaking to Newsmen in Benin City, the Edo State Capital immediately after the semi final match that saw AFSA FC of Ekpoma qualifying for finals, Comrade Kingsley Ohens, National President of EYM told newsmen that “the coach and his team with backup from the sponsor have done so well for the entire Esan Nation. It a great leap not only for the coach and the team but a historical glory for the entire Esan Nation. While we congratulate you for this great feat, we also implore the team to work harder to lift the cup. You are very capable. Better is not good enough the best is yet to come. Just keep the faith”, the youth leader exalted the team in a public statement also made available to esan.tv
