Air Peace Denies Plans to Increase Airfares Amid Viral Rumors

In response to circulating reports, Air Peace, one of Nigeria’s prominent airlines, has firmly denied plans to raise its one-way flight fare from Lagos to Abuja to N200,000, dispelling widespread rumors of a significant hike. The airline clarified its position in an official statement released on Saturday, stating that it had not issued any notice about fare increases.

The rumor gained traction after a viral social media post suggested that Air Peace would increase its one-way flight fare from N114,000 to N200,000, beginning November 1, 2024. The post, which included a picture of the airline’s Chairman, Mr. Allen Onyema, suggested a substantial fare increase, sparking concern among frequent travelers.

Addressing these claims, Air Peace emphasized that the information did not originate from the airline and described it as false. The airline’s statement further reassured customers, clarifying that any updates on fare changes would be communicated solely through Air Peace’s verified channels.

“We would like to categorically state that this information is false and did not originate from Air Peace,” the statement read. “We have not released any official statement regarding a fare increase as described, and any announcements regarding our pricing would only be made through our verified channels. We encourage our valued customers and clients to rely exclusively on these platforms for accurate updates and information on fares.”

Air Peace’s statement highlights its commitment to transparent communication with customers, urging them to stay informed through official platforms.
