…as Tambuwal seeks collaboration on girl child education, women empowerment

The United States Ambassador to Nigeria , Mary Leonard has said that the US government remain committed to the course of ensuring community solutions to Nigeria’s security challenges and other sectorial support just as Governor Tambuwal solicited a beneficial bilateral collaboration on girl child education and women empowerment.
” Sokoto is set to commit resources, both material and human to ensure quality education”, the governor assured.
Tambuwal said Sokoto state government was poised to expanding its engagement horizon with the US embassy, agencies and government for the future.
He called on the US authorities to explore the investment potentials and opportunities that abound in Sokoto state while acknowledging the visit by the US Ambassador noting that despite the banditry and kidnapping activities , yet the state was still ranking the most peaceful in the North.
Leonard who made the disclosure in Sokoto while on a visit to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal in Government House , Sokoto said educational growth healthcare, agriculture concerns as well business development were of paramount importance for support to the US government .
According g to Leonard, who recalled that in 2015, the US invested about $122 million to enhance education , healthcare, agriculture as well as business development through USAID, also disclosed that it was in a beneficial partnership with drive with the Usmanu Danfodiyo University , Sokoto for the establishment and sustenance of the American Space .
